To play your bowl gently strike the outside rim of the bowl one time using the suede striker. Then slowly run the striker around the outside rim, holding firmly as the resonance begins to build and until the desired vibration is reached. This is called "singing" the bowl. When you sing the bowl, try to keep the striker a parallel to the outside of the bowl as possible. The greater the angle of the striker in relationship to the side of the bowl the harder you will have to sing the bowl. It is best to play the bowl slowly with the striker. Playing the bowl slowly will give you greater control and allow you to produce sound more readily. You may play in any direction. Removing the striker will allow the bowl to sustain, meaning it will continue resonating as you tune in and enjoy the energy.
